Gold Guardianship

This level of guardianship is ideal for students who are fairly independent and for whom the parents do not require all the services offered in our PLATINUM level…

Other services may be requested as required. The services offered in this level are:

• Airport collection at the beginning and end of terms
• Maintaining regular contact with student, parents, schooland guardian family
• Liaising with the school on curriculum and other matters
• Available for discussion and help with any aspect of your child’s  life in Scotland
• Allocation of a guardian family
• Accommodation at all exeats, beginning and end of each term or as required.

Accommodation charges

While our charges are based on 24 hour period we charge per night. However, we also charge for the extra meals the guardian family provide on the last day of an exeat or holiday period.

We strongly recommend that the student go to his/her guardian family for the exeats and half term in Scotland.  This recommendation is made in order to facilitate the settling in period and to allow the student and the family to get to know each other and to allow bonds to develop.  Only in exceptional circumstances will permission be given for the student to go elsewhere. The student may go to a friend’s house for the holiday periods after he/she has received the appropriate permission from both the school and SOGA and ample warning (at least 7 days) has been given to the guardian family as a matter of courtesy.   If less than 7 days notice and the accommodation has been booked with the guardian family no credit will be given.

Charge per day  £  15.00

This charge is for any day the the guardian may spend with the student, this could be to renew visas, medical appointment, shopping trips etc.

Transportation Cost: Mileage  : .45p will be charged for journeys between the guardian`s home and the school, and for airport transfers.  The waiting time at the airport is charged at £5.00 per hour.

A deposit of £200 is required.  This is used to pay for transportation charges and any special expenses. A separate accounting is made each term, and the parents are asked to`top up` the deposit at the beginning of each term, to ensure that £200 is held on credit.
Credit will be carried forward to the next accounting period or refunded at the end of the school year.
